I'm back on this blogging FUN!

It really has been a very long time since I've posted on my blog HOWEVER I was recently inspired by two very important individuals in my life.  One is real, she is tangible, she is my best friend.  The other is a celebrity (in our eyes) and she is the Pioneer Woman.....So they have once again been able to influence me to write and post another blog and describe some recent adventures in my life.  Tune in!

Of Quail Hunts and Such

Finally someone is patient enough to take me on a quail hunt expedition.....Things you need for a successful quail hunt!
1. a good eye (check)
2. some bird dogs
3. a good shot
4. a gun that girls shoot and guys need a gun that guys shoot
5. ammo
6. a vehicle of some sort
7. an ice chest with some crushed ice and some drinks
8. sunglasses for a sunny day
9. a good eye (did I already mention I have a good eye?)
10. always helps to have a good looking hunting partner.....

I realize I have so much more to learn and I'm really excited to continue this course of study......hopefully someday I'll be eatin' the quail too!

Food Network Kitchen Messes

I'm not embarrassed to say I'm a messy cook.  I keep trying to act like I'm Ree Drummond from The Pioneer Woman or Trisha Yearwood from her show but lets get real....Make one meal with dessert included can be messy and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's all part of the fun in the kitchen.....so cheers to my fellow Food Network women who make it look effortless.  I am determined to figure that they also have a clean up crew and someone who goes to the grocery store for them as well.  One hour isn't enough time to make the meal and appear as though the kitchen stays spotless.....

Here's to so many more meals and cakes to be made....Did I mention I'm on German Chocolate Cake #2....I think I will perfect a "heavy" frosting on my third or fourth try....I'm so lucky to have someone who is more than willing to try out my experimental cakes. I wonder what he will do when I perfect the frosting and don't need to further my perfection on coconut frosting LOL

Even cowgirls can dress up.....

Here are my holiday portraits.....Picture winds at killer speeds and 30 degree temperature but I did it....Maybe because I'm never dressed up at the ranch or because I just wanted to play with makeup at 6 am....Whatever it was here they are thanks to a miracle makeup artist and a photographer that forced me out of my comfort zone........

The Corral

I missed a weekend at the ranch to travel, however if you've ever had Longhorns on your property as pets you know they surprisingly hide quite well in the brush.

My two pets Freckles and Soltero have not been around as often because, like camels, they do not need water as often as the rest of the cattle on the property do....

For the month of December my goal is to transfer them into a smaller pasture so I can see them more often as the holidays are arriving and its time to spend some quality time at the ranch.....

I'll keep everyone posted on the "disappearing" longhorns......
