A friend of mine challenged me to a German Chocolate Cake a while back. My initial reaction was GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE?!!!!! He has got to be kidding me. I even asked if there were other options and then he says COOKIES!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFor as much as I love baking and the kitchen I had never even thought to attempt my mother's german chocolate cake recipe and seriously never thought I would bake a cookie that didn't come out of those plastic rolls (with dough you can just eat with a spoon.)
So I made it my mission this week to do BOTH!
I give myself an A for taste and effort, a B for patience, and a C for presentation. My kind friend accepted a chopped up german chocolate cake and when i say chopped, I managed to figure out how to cut 4 chunks of cake and place it in a to go container. Note: I said chunks not slices. Recipes to follow....
Chunks of German Chocolate are totally acceptable! What about the cookies? Were those supposed to be German Chocolate cake flavored??
ReplyDeleteNo they were not but I can make those too I think? No challenges for the next 2 weeks. LOL
DeleteI'd love the recipe! KiKi
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to try the recipe even though I have zero patience with creating anything edible and whenever I do, it's usually plain beginner's luck that saves me...
